Pepe Jeans International, leading fashion brand in the premium casual wear segment, is set to double its sourcing from India to the US and European countries. |
"With the quota regime going off on December 31, Pepe's sourcing from India will more than double. At present Pepe sources over 15 per cent of the requirement to the US and over 10 per cent of the European orders from India," said Chetan Shah, country head, PJL Clothing India, the Indian arm of Pepe Jeans International. |

Apart from doubling its sourcing from India, the company is planning to invest over Rs 25 crore to set up over 70 exclusive showrooms across the country. |

At present the company has 30 showrooms, which would exceed 50 by the end of 2005-2006 and will touch 100 by the end of 2007-2008. |

Over 10 per cent of Pepe's global business comes from India. The company holds over 30 per cent of the market share in India in the premium segment. |

The company outsources its products from captive factories and semi-captive factories from Bangalore, Mumbai and Tirupur among others. |

Pepe's business can be broadly classified into 45 per cent jeans and 55 per cent fashion denim, with women wear at 35 per cent. |
