Furniture and home marketplace Pepperfry.com on Wednesday said it expects to achieve a business break-even in 12-18 months from now.

The four-year old start-up has crossed Rs 1,000 crore mark in gross merchandise value (GMV) last year.

"We are operating at margins upwards of 40% even while selling the furniture 25% cheaper to consumers by eliminating the middlemen. As our goal is to grow and expand our business we are ploughing back all that money into business," said Pepperfry, Founder and Chief Operating Officer Ashish Shah.

The company's business is growing three-fold a year and this would help it to achieve a break-even in an y-o-y and half time, according to Shah. The company has raised $130 million in several rounds to fund the business.

Among its ongoing initiatives, Pepperfry was planning to add 10 more studios, which are designed for providing look and feel experience in addition to advisory on interiors to the customers, by the end of this year.

It has unveiled, it's 8th studio in Hyderabad on Wednesday and is looking for a second location for a similar facility in the city. Currently it has furniture and interior studios in Delhi, Mumbai and Pune.
