Persistent net up by 17.3%

Persistent Systems, outsourced software product development services firm recorded consolidated net profit of Rs 36.24 crore for the third quarter ended on December 31, 2010 which is up by 17.3 per cent as compare to Rs 29.97 crore last quarter, Persistent said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). Revenue for the year increased by 6.7 per cent to Rs 184.68 crore.

Anand Deshpande, chairman and managing director, Persistent Systems said, "We are glad that our investments in cloud computing, collaboration, analytics and mobility are paying off well. We believe that markets are shifting rapidly and those who are agile will survive and thrive. We are well poised to take advantage of these changes and our ability to react swiftly to these conditions will be the cornerstone of our success." The company has launched an SEZ in Pune followed by Hyderabad.
