Mid-cap information technology products and services company Persistent Systems on Monday announced plans to organise its business on four growth strategies. The new structure, along with new leadership responsibilities, will be effective April 1.

The four growth strategies and related business lines are digital, IBM Alliance, services and Accelerite.

The company said it would focus on the "how" of digital by bringing together data, application programme interfaces, and experiences. Sudhir Kulkarni will be the president for the digital business.

The IBM Alliance will leverage the relationship between Persistent Systems and IBM. The alliance has the potential to add as much as 15 per cent to 20 per cent revenue on Persistent's FY16 base, with significant growth potential into the future, it said.

The growth strategy builds on the recent alliance for the IBM Watson Internet of Things platform and the vision of software-driven everything as the next step in the digital transformation of enterprises. Mike Kerr will be president for the IBM Alliance.

This alliances adds to 1,000 people that it currently has dedicated to IBM platforms. It will add centres of IBM expertise globally - expanding its footprint to North America and Europe, along with forming new subsidiaries of Persistent in Mexico and Israel.

"Persistent will add about 500 people in the next year which will be a mix of experts coming over from IBM, Persistent's own employees, and new talent we will hire in markets," said the company.

Mritunjay (Munjay) Singh will be the President for the Services business. Services will focus on services for software and product development including agile and experience design that are driven by the mainstream adoption of SMAC technologies.

Accelerite will focus on products.The Accelerite product suite includes solutions for cloud life cycle management, endpoint security, enterprise mobility management, and the Internet of Things (IoT). Nara Rajagopalan will continue as the CEO of Accelerite, the Products business of Persistent.

The company also plans to strengthen its corporate functions as part of Corporate Operations that will enable and accelerate the four growth strategies. Atul Khadilkar will be the President for Corporate Operations.
