Personalised Funda plans more stores

Kolkata based fledgling gift outlet chain Personalised Funda(PF) is planning to set up two more stores in Kolkata by the end of this year, as a part of its expansion strategy.

"We are planning to come up with two more stores in Kolkata, in addition to the existing ones in the city. Both new stores will be standalone exclusive outlets and not as kiosks, as we had earlier thought of opening, due to various factors, the most important being exhorbitant increase in rentals", said Anoop Kedia, one of the partners of PF.

The two new stores will come up in New Alipore and Kankurgachi ares of Kolkata with an investment of Rs 10 lakh, each covering 250-300sq.ft..

Apart from the stores in Kolkata it is also planning to open two more stores in Guwahati and Durgapur with similar investment.

PF aimed to set up a store in Hyderabad, but it had been delayed.

It aimed to add outlets in Bangalore, Chennai and Delhi by the beginning of 2009.

Turnover of the Company was Rs 45 lakh in 2007 and it expected turnover to rise 10-15 per cent by the end of this year thanks to the new stores.

"We plan to build Personlised Funda into a bigger and the most sought after outlet. We are targetting mainly the youth with pieces ranging from laser engraved crystals, photo canvas, table clocks, tile murals to utility products as well, like bed sheets, pillow covers and T shirts", added Kedia.

The company was a partnership run by Anoop Kedia, Bankim Bag and Shaswant Agarwal.
