Petronet LNG net up 70% at Rs 204 cr

Petronet LNG, the nation's largest liquefied natural gas importer, today said it has reported a 70.24% growth in net profit at Rs 204.35 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2009. 

The company had a net profit of Rs 120.03 crore in the quarter ended March FY'08, Petronet LNG said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.      

The company's total income rose to Rs 2,654.88 crore in the March quarter from Rs 1,752.65 crore in the corresponding year-ago period.      

Besides, Petronet LNG declared a dividend at 17.5% on the paid-up share capital of the company (Rs 1.75 per share) for the year ended March 31, 2009.      

For the full year ended March 31, 2009, Petronet LNG posted a net profit of Rs 518.44 crore as compared to Rs 474.66 crore in the last fiscal.      

The company's total income rose to Rs 8,428.70 crore in the year ended March 31, 2009, from Rs 6,555.31 crore in the previous fiscal.      

Shares of Petronet LNG were trading at Rs 54.55, up 2.92% on the BSE.
