Petronet LNG Ltd, India's largest liquefied natural gas importer, may shut its Dahej import terminal in October to link new units that will double the terminal capacity.
"We need to take a four-to-five-day shutdown to hook up new facilities. It will happen in October but the dates are not yet fixed," a company source said.
The five million tonnes a year Dahej terminal may be shut in third week of October with 14 to 19 being talked as possible dates.
"These are tentative dates and we are yet to fix a shutdown schedule," he said.
By the year-end, Dahej terminal capacity is to be doubled to 10 million tonnes.
The shutdown will link new storage tanks, pipelines and regassifiers to the existing facility.
