Power Finance Corporation (PFC) is targeting 26% growth at Rs 33,000 crore in disbursement for the current fiscal.
"We have already surpassed the target Rs 27,000 crore for the year and till March we hope to finish the year with a disbursement of around Rs 33,000 crore. In 2009-10, the company disbursed Rs 26,000 crore," PFC Director (Projects) Rajeev Sharma said here today.
When asked about possibility for equity financing, he said there is no policy for such investment and even if the board approves, PFC will not participate in private power projects, including Ultra Mega Power Plants.
Sharma said the company was also planning to set up a 100% subsidiary for renewable projects.
"Normally, it was noticed that renewable energy projects are small in nature and were not given due attention. So, a dedicated outfit will have expertise to handle such projects," he said.
Meanwhile, PFC is targeting to raise up to Rs 5,300 crore through the ongoing infrastructure bonds public issue.
