Philips India today launched pain relief solutions in Uttar Pradesh, which uses infrared light technology.

The pan-India pain relief solutions market is currently pegged at Rs 2,500 crore and growing by 12-15%. This includes all pain relief products, including tablets, sprays, gels etc.

Philips has created a new category with the launch of infrared light-based pain relief solutions in India, which is still in a nascent stage, company's marketing director (health and wellness) Jayati Singh Chakraborti told Business Standard here.

Beyond Punjab and Delhi, UP is the only region where the company has launched this product so far.

"We are in the process of creating awareness about the product through targetted advertising and holding workshops for retailers and health professionals," she underlined.

She claimed the market feedback so far had been encouraging. The two electronic products InfraPhil and InfraCare relieve muscle and joint pains.
