With the plastic industry in India growing at a rapid pace, there is a tremendous response to 'Plastindia 2006', a six-day international exhibition on plastic industry to be held at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi from February 9, 2006 by Plastindia Foundation (PF), an apex body of major associations, organisations and institutions connected with plastics in the country. |
"All the halls to be set up at the exhibition, except hall number 18, have been already sold out," Mahesh Shah, president of PF, said at a road show organised by the foundation here. |
He said that 'Proplast', which would be an integral party of the exhibition, would be showcased at hall number 18 covering an area of about 11,000 square metres. Proplast would serve as a one-stop shop for business in the entire plastics processing chain. |
According to PF National Executive Council chairman Kamal P Nanavaty, the forthcoming exhibition is expected to be on a much larger scale compared to Plastindia 2003 which had space booking of 46,000 square metres with over 1100 exhibitors participating from 30 different countries. Plastindia 2006 will have an exhibition space of 60,000 square metres. |
Inaugurating the road show, principal secretary of Andhra Pradesh department of commerce and industry Lakshmi Parthasarathy suggested that all those connected with plastics should come together and promote the development of plastic industry in the country. |
