Punjab National Bank posted a net profit of Rs 1,089.77 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2010, up 7.76 per cent as compared to Rs 1,011.31 crore for the same quarter in the previous year.
The total income has increased to Rs 7,976.35 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2010, up 27.89 per cent from Rs 6,236.55 crore for the December quarter a year ago.
The net interest income grew up 45 per cent at Rs 3,230 crore for the December 2010 quarter from Rs 2,212 crore in the December quarter 2009.
The bank saw cash growth at 22 per cent.
The NIMs were posted at 4.17 per cent.
The recovery of Rs 955 crore for the nine months in FY11, higher than last year.
At 1 pm, the shares of PNB were trading up 0.73 per cent at Rs 1,143.85 on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
