State-run transmission utility Power Grid today said it has raised about Rs 4,000 crore through bonds issue in the domestic market.
The proceeds would be utilised to part finance capital expenditure of Rs 20,000 crore targeted for the current fiscal.
Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) mopped up Rs 3,997.50 crore through bonds issue in the domestic market at a coupon rate of 9.30 per cent per annum, it said in a statement.
"The tenure of the bonds is 15 years with maturities starting from the end of fourth year," it added.
The company posted a profit of Rs 3,255 crore on a turnover of Rs 10,785 crore in 2011-12 financial year.
Power Grid has planned Rs 1,00,000 crore capital expenditure in the current Five-Year Plan (2012-17).
Shares of the company closed 0.23 per cent lower at Rs 109.60 apiece on BSE.
