Dubai-based Power Group has launched Power Security Services, an integrated security solutions provider, armed with sophisticated electronic gadgets and even sniffer dogs. Power Group is a player in providing a variety of outsourcing services related to security and maintenance of industrial projects. |
Ahmed Khalil Darwish, director-general, Power Group, said that Chennai was the group's beachead in India. Darwish's stint in the UAE Army prompted him to get into the security business back home. |
Power Security has been started with an investment of Rs 3.5 crore and plans to recruit up to 500 people in the first year. The local recruitment would largely be the ground level personnel. The management team is being brought in from the headquarters as they have the experience to provide an integrated security package. |
Among the features that would come with the package are jammers that are typically used by security forces to protect important convoys from remote controlled bombs, and sniffer dogs that would supplement human effort to guard perimeters. |
Officials said the company is currently in talks with a couple of firms in Chennai to provide its integrated package. Though Darwish declined to put a figure to the minimum value that would be required to offer a client an integrated package, it is understood that the figure could be around Rs 5 crore (including the cost of installing electronic equipment). |
Power plans to expand its presence in India soon. The presentation indicated that it would make a pitch to secure premises in Hyderabad, Bangalore and Mumbai by the end of the year. |
