QGIT, the main contractor for the Petrobras project in Brazil, has awarded the order for skids to Praj.
In this project, Praj will provide detailed engineering, procurement, manufacturing of skids along with all related equipment. The weight of individual skids ranges from 50 to 150 tons or even some of the units will be large, multi-storied skids.

Praj will manufacture these process skids as per ASME and Brazilian code requirements at it’s SEZ, in Kandla, in Gujarat. The facility is set up for heavy fabrication with separate shops for stainless steel and carbon steel fabrication. Praj’s CPES business has supplied equipment and skids to more than 15 countries worldwide in last 5 years.

In the last five years Praj has spent Rs 500 crore on research & development and expansion of the business. It is setting up a new facility in North Maharashtra which will produce 5 million litres of ethanol every year.
The ethanol will be produced from the agriculture bio-waste.
The plant will be operational by end of this year.
As a part of company’s future growth strategy, Praj has restructured its business with second generation technology. Along with ethanol production, from last three years, it is focusing water, pharma and biotech-led businesses.
