Hyderabad-based Precision Models and Miniatures Private Limited, a miniature maker, has won the ISO 9001:2000 certification of JAS-ANZ (Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand).

According to Prasad, managing director of Precision Models and Miniatures Private Limited, there are only five to six companies in the country who make industrial models and Precision is the only company to get such a recognition.

He said that the company specialises in preparation of static and working models useful for the pre-production of a product or project. The company also makes animation panels, which are useful for making the miniatures for power, petrochemical and cement sectors.

The models and miniatures that the company makes range from buildings, gas turbines, wind-powered generators, refiners and boilers. The models can also be demonstrated manually or automatically with sequential illumination and audio synchronisation.

Prasad said that the turnover of the company is Rs 26 lakh and expects a substantial increase this fiscal. He said that the company has completed 37 projects for various companies in the last seven years, which include projects for Japan-based Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Hyundai, BHEL, NTPC, GVK Industries, L&T Cements and others.

The company, which works on only one project at a time, is currently working on a gearbox model for Mysore-based Triveni Engineering Limited. The company also does defence-related projects like miniatures of ships. "We are the third company to get defence projects," he said.
