FMCG major Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Health Care today said its net profit has grown 27.25 per cent in the third quarter ended March 31 to Rs 34.83 crore over the corresponding period a year ago.
The company had a net profit of Rs 27.37 crore in the March quarter last financial year, Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Health Care informed stock exchanges.
Net sales of the company during Q3 of FY09 rose to Rs 177.78 crore from Rs 148.23 crore of the same quarter a year ago.
"The continued strong growth of our business last quarter inspite the economic slowdown reflects the strength of our brands Vicks and Whisper," Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Health Care MD Shantanu Khosla said.
For the nine-month period ended March 31, the company posted a net profit of Rs 131.08 crore, registering a 21.17 per cent growth as compared to Rs 108.17 crore of the same period a year ago.
Shares of Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Health Care closed at Rs 808, up 1.13 per cent on the BSE.
