American enterprise solutions company Progress Software today launched an Innovative Initiative for its employees. The globally rolled-out programme will provide a platform to all its engineers to become 'intr-preneurs' by thinking out of the box ideas and solutions.
The programme was rolled out in four Progress labs, including its development center in Hyderabad, which first experimented with this idea.
Under this initiative engineers are given one day in a month to build on their own ideas. If selected those ideas may be launched as a new product or a new feature for an existing product, the company said.
Earlier last year Progress has launched an in-house incubation center aimed at encouraging early-stage start ups to build innovative products.
According to Ramesh Loganathan, vice president, products and managing director of Progress Software, the new initiative allows engineers to work on projects of their choice.
Progress has also announced the launch of its worldwide flagship product Digital Factory, which enables businesses modernise their operations and enhance user engagement.
Jerri Rulli, chief operating officer, Progress Software said," We are extremely pleased about the direction we are taking in the context of the Digital Transformation market. We estimate the market size to be about $ 70 billion globally for user engagement within the need gap for digital transformation globally."
