PTC India reported a decline in profit after tax at Rs 16 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2009, compared to Rs 24 crore during in the same period last year.
Profit After Tax (PAT) for the third quarter is Rs 15.88 crore as compared to Rs 23.70 crore during the corresponding period last fiscal, lower by 33 per cent on account of fall in treasury income, a company statement said.
PAT for the nine-month period ended December 31 is Rs 80.03 crore as compared to Rs 75.28 crore during the same period last fiscal, higher by 6.31 per cent, it said.
PTC India is engaged in trading electricity.
Trading volume of the company rose by 17 per cent at 4,444 million units (MUs) in the third quarter as compared to 3,797 MUs in the same period last fiscal.
