First bhel shop in the country to receive such a certification
Pune-based, Ganesh Bhel and Chaat Products, has received ISO 9001:2008 certification from TÜV AUSTRIA for manufacturing and packing their product.
According to owners, it's the first bhel shop in the country to receive such a certification. Directors of Ganesh Bhel, Rupesh and Dinesh Gudmewar, have expanded their father's business by incorporating technology and innovative management.
Speaking to Business Standard, Dinesh Gudmewar, director, Ganesh Bhel said, "We applied for ISO certification in August last year. We have taken the required training for the ISO certification from a private consultant. The processes right from making the bhel to packing have now become consistently systematic because of ISO certification. This means that we can deliver quality food and service to our customers in lesser time."
Ganesh Bhel has five outlets in the city, two of which are franchisees. He added, "Earlier we used to export bhel and panipuri to the countries like Singapore, USA and Dubai. But we have stopped it to concentrate on domestic market and have plans to expand franchisee business.But considering to start exports again in next six months. We are ready to experiment with new flavours and supplying our products to malls and multiplexes. All the products are into dry format. Also, we are introducing new flavours like cream onion and Mexican especially for malls and multiplexes. We also encourage women to come up with new ideas and execute them for us.
Ganesh Bhel has installed CCTV cameras at all our outlets through to keep a watch on the stocks at all the branches and monitor demand for products.
It has also set up automated software at all branches. They introduced many changes in the bhel business like mineral water and sterilised dishes, spoons and quality packing for exports to Singapore, Dubai and America.
