Engineering and construction firm Punj Lloyd today said it has secured a Rs 1,292 crore work order from Thailand's state-run PTT Public Company for construction of a gas pipeline, besides a separate project worth Rs 169 crore from Indian Oil Corporation.
The Thailand project involves the construction of a 294-km-long pipeline to transport a mixture of gases and has a contractual completion deadline of three years, the company said in a statement.
"The scope of work includes detailed engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of 294 km... onshore gas pipeline from the Liquefied Natural Gas Terminal at the Maptaphut Industrial Estate... To Kaeng Khoi pipeline in Saraburi province," it said.
The domestic order pertains to mechanical and piping work for units of state-run Indian Oil Corporation's Paradip Refinery in Orissa.
The project involves drilling close to city dwellings and highways and has a completion deadline of one year, it added.
"We are proud to announce that in less than a year, Punj Lloyd has bagged its second project from PTT Public Company, the first being an offshore project consolidating our position in Thailand," Punj Lloyd Director P K Gupta said.
The Rs 169 crore order from IOCL is for mechanical and piping work on two units at the Paradip Refinery in Orissa and has a completion deadline of 20 months, the company said.
With these contracts, the order backlog for the Punj Lloyd Group on a consolidated basis has gone up to Rs 28,526 crore.
Last month, the company had announced that it secured Rs 1,595 crore worth of domestic and overseas contracts, including a separate Rs 1,123 crore order from Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) for the Paradip Refinery Project.
