Railway Finance to issue bonds

Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd, finance arm of the Indian Railways, will issue long-term bonds worth Rs 2,000 crore to Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) this week. The proceeds from bond offering will be used for capacity augmentation by Railways.

Under a pact LIC will provide financing support worth Rs 1,50,000 crore to Railways over five years for projects.
