Hyderabad-based Rain Commodities has posted a decline of 30 per cent in its consolidated net profit at Rs 120.12 crore for the quarter ended September 30 compared with Rs 170 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The company's consolidated net sales during the period stood at Rs 735.35 crore against Rs 1,312.73 crore, down 44 per cent.
The earning per share (EPS) was Rs 16.96 crore which last year during the same period stood at Rs 23.6.
On the standalone basis, company's net profit grew 272.16 per cent to Rs 74.73 crore from Rs 20.08 crore last year. The standalone net sales were marginally down by 0.49 per cent to Rs 251.69 crore against Rs 252.94 crore last year.
On the Bombay Stock Exchange, the company's share prices closed on Thursday at Rs 169.65, down 8.32 per cent.
