Rajasthan Electro turnover in Andhra to touch Rs 4 crore

Rajasthan Electronics & Instruments Limited (REIL), one of the 91 mini ratnas in the country, is set to achieve a turnover of Rs 4 crore for 2005-06 in Andhra Pradesh. The company has fixed a target of Rs 5-6 crore for the year 2006-07 in the state.
 
REIL manufactures IT-based products for dairy industry, solar photo voltaic (SPV) systems and electronic energy meters. About 7,000 dairies in Andhra Pradesh use RIEL's electronic milk testers (EMTs) and auto zero electronic milk testers (AZEMTs).
 
Its latest version in this series "� smart card data processor milk collection unit (DP-MCU) "� ensures electronic passbooks for farmers with complete transparency about milk supplies.
 
"The company received orders for installing 160 DP-MCU in the state "� about 100 units in Krishna district and 30 in Nizamabad district. The District Rural Development Authority (DRDA) of Mahbubnagar district has purchased 10 units for a Mahila Samakhya dairy," V A Thampy, REIL Andhra Pradesh in charge, told Business Standard.
 
The company's national turnover is around Rs 70 crore, he said, adding that the company holds patents for its EMT models and has developed and installed the world's first raw milk reception dock (RMRD) system on client server architecture.
 
According to him, REIL initially purchased technology for manufacturing EMTs from N Foss Electric, Denmark, and later indigenised and modified them.
 
The company has sold about 1 lakh energy meters. "We have representatives in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and UK. Our EMTs are popular in UK, Denmark, Russia, Japan, Nigeria, West Indies, Peru, Thailand, Indonesia, Iran, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. We have exported solar photo voltaic modules of 850 kwp worth Rs 14 crore to Germany," Thampy said.
 
RIEL has field maintenance centres in Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Nizamabad with a headquarter in Vijayawada. The company has eight regional offices and 46 field and sub-field maintenance centres spread across the country. The company has also installed dusk-to-dawn solar street lights with automatic switch-off and switch-on systems (solar timer) in Hyderabad and Ongole.
 
Thampy said that other products, which clicked in the market, included data processor-based milk collection station, PC-based milk collection station, milk society accounts management system, smart automatic milk collection system, raw material reception dock automation system, solid non-fat tester, auto electronic milk tester, improved SPV dusk-dawn system (solar timer), decentralised village electrification system, grid interactive power plants, high frequency UPS and inverter for SPV applications and pre-paid and smart card-based energy meters.
