Ramboll opens a new engg centre in Hyderabad, to serve telecom players

Danish multi-disciplinary engineering, design and consultancy firm Ramboll today launched a new engineering centre in Hyderabad to fuel its telecom business both in India and other markets.

The 230-strong Ramboll Hyderabad team focuses on tower engineering which involves the analysis and design of masts towers and monopoles in addition to tower marketing and technical support as well as manufacture and sale of towers.

The new facility was inaugurated by Ramboll's group executive director for markets and global practices, Soren Holm Johansen. Speaking on the occasion, Johansen said, "India is a key market for us and we will continue to make strategic technological infrastructure investments and pick top engineering talent in India,"

Along with telecom services Ramboll will also provide its engineering and design expertise in transport and planning and urban design sector from its Hyderabad center.

According to Pankaj Sachdeva, telecom director, Ramboll India, the firm has undertaken tower loading validation analysis services for major industry players in India such as Indus Towers, VIOM and Bharti Infratel. For other telecom solutions, Ramoll's key clients include Reliance Jio, Indus Towers, Bharti Infratel, American Tower Corporation, Airtel, Vodafone and Idea among others.

In India, Ramboll employs more than 800 employees working from five principal offices in Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai and Bengaluru with Gurgaon being the head office.

"2015 was a good year for Ramboll India as we clocked revenue of around Rs 1,600 million. We are bullish on the Indian market and confident to achieve the mark of Rs 2,500 million by 2018,"Ramboll India managing director Pawan Maini said.
