Ramsarup Industries Limited, the country's second largest player in steel wire market after TISCO, has finalised plans to set up a bio-root power generation plant in Gujarat. |
Talking to Business Standard, Navin Gupta, chief financial officer of Ramsarup Industries, said, "We will come up with bio-root power generation plant in Gujarat in six months time." |
The company with Rs 1020 crore turnover, is carrying out techno feasibility study to identify a suitable location for its upcoming bio-root power generation plant in the state. |
"The project will be of enormous size for which we need approximately 300 acres of land," added Gupta. He further elaborated that such a huge chunk of land can only be provided by the state government at concessional rates. |
However, he admited that the plant will be set up at the remotest area of the state due to the need of mammoth land for setting up the power generation infrastructure. |
He clarified by saying, "We are not in any kind of talks with the Gujarat government for procuring land at present." |
"Initially the power generation capacity will be 20 Mega Watt (MW) annually which will be increased phase wise in later stages," informed Gupta. |
The bio-root power plant will generate electricity from vegetables and municipal wastes and the remains of the utilized wastes products can be used as bio-fertiliser after the production of power. |
"Power generated from bio degradable products will add more value as we can get further product in form of bio-fertilizer," said Gupta. |
When asked about the kind of investment that will be required for establishing a bio-root power generation plant, Gupta said, "The total investment amount has not been figured out yet." |
However the company will prefer to sell its power to state electricity agency over the private players, informs Gupta. |
