Ranbaxy Laboratories today said its board of directors has approved the appointment of Percy Shroff as the independent director of the firm.
"The board of directors of the company at its meeting held on March 27, 2009 inter alia, has approved the appointment of Percy Shroff as independent director of the company," Ranbaxy Lab said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Shroff was appointed to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Harpal Singh, it added.
The company also said, the board has recommended appointment of BSR & CO Chartered Accountants, an Indian associate of KPMG as auditor of the company following the unwillingness of Walker, Chandiok & Co to carry on as auditor of the company at the ensuing AGM.
