The suspense over which state will bag Tata’s dream car project seems to have ended. The Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, who completes seven years in office to become the state’s longest serving CM today, will address a joint press conference with Tata Group Chairman Ratan Tata and sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for relocating Nano project to Gujarat.

The likely site for the project is Charodi near Ahmedabad.

Modi had met Tata Motors CMD Ravi Kant at his official residence on September 20, where possible sites like Mundra, Savli near Vadodara and Charodi were discussed.

While the state government has decided to transfer the 2200 acre land belonging to Anand Agriculture University’s Northcote Cattle Farm near Charodi last week, the Ahmedabad collectorate started the process of acquiring private land from Tuesday onwards for the project.
