Solar power developer Rays Power Infra plans to enter into the highways sector in the next two years, a top company official said.

"In the next two years, we will venture into the highways sector and in the first few projects, we will partner with the company to gain experience and once we gain technical experience we can start working independently," Rays Power Infra Director Ketan Mehta told PTI.

He added that the potential in the infrastructure business is tremendous.

The company, which is primarily engaged in solar power generation, will commission its 5 MW Naguar solar power plant in Rajasthan and 25 MW Medak in Andhra Pradesh during the current financial year (2014-15).

Rays Power Infra is yet to acquire land for its proposed solar park at Neemuch in Madhya Pradesh.

Mehta said the company is open to looking at setting up projects in other states as well if policies are favourable. He added that the company aims at doubling its solar power capacity annually.

The company recently commissioned 14 projects and its total generation capacity is 85 MW with 56 projects.
