RCF pays Rs 56 cr dividend to govt

State-owned Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilisers (RCF) today said it has paid a dividend of Rs 56.13 crore for the financial year 2009-10 to the government.

"The dividend cheque was handed over by RCF CMD J Kohareswaran to the Minister of Chemicals and Fertilisers M K Alagiri" an official release said.

The Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilisers, Srikant Kumar Jena and Department of Fertilisers Secretary, S Krishnan were also present on the occasion, it added.

During 2009-10, RCF reported the highest ever profit of Rs 234.87 crore. It registered an 11 per cent increase in the fiscal compared to the previous year's net profit of Rs 211.58 crore.

The public sector firm achieved a turnover of Rs 5,697.18 crore in the fiscal and it has sold 4.1 million tonnes of fertilisers.
