Anil Ambani's Reliance Communications (RCom), which offers GSM and CDMA mobile services, said it added 1.62 million new mobile users in March. A company official said the net additions from January to March this year stood at 4.83 million. RCom, the country's largest CDMA operator, added 1.6 million mobile users each for the first two months. India has already surpassed the US as the second largest wireless market, while China is the number one wireless market. GSM operators added a record 7.6 million subscribers in March making it the highest addition in a single month. India's wireless subscriber base stands at 260 million at present. RCom has already got GSM spectrum for 14 circles under the dual technology policy of the government. RCom, which has a nationwide presence in CDMA technology, had been offering GSM mobile phone services in eight circles of West Bengal, Kolkata, North-East, Assam, Bihar, Orissa, Madhya Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh.
