Reliance Communications (RCom) is tapping the growing potential of the data-enabled services, and has launched a service that enables the users to access job classifieds over the mobile phones. |
The company has also tied up with a leading job portal, naukri.com, for the service, even as its mulling of further such agreements. |
The Anil Ambani group firm has launched an application that enables job-seekers to search and shortlist classified advertisements and apply for them over mobile phones. |
The service can be accessed through Reliance Mobile World (a data suite of application) accessible over Reliance cell phones. Confirming this Reliance Communications President (Application Services group) Mahesh Prasad said, "The tie-up with Naukri will enable our users to access all the job portal's classifieds on Reliance mobile phones." |
"We had looked at the traditional method of classifieds in newspapers and converged it with mobile phone platform, leveraging the quality of both conventional and emerging media," he said. |
A Reliance mobile customer registered with the job portal can use the services, using the same naukri.com login and password to search online for jobs based on category, location and experience. |
Users can search for a wide range of jobs that require specialised skills like IT/ITeS, telecommunications, finance, banking, call centres and human resources among others. Reliance Communications has also launched 'Classifieds on Mobiles' that enables a customer to search for various services like real estates, automobiles, local jobs, used items and matrimonial. |
The company is in talks with content providers in the country for a similar tie-up. Prasad, however, declined to comment on this, stating that it is "premature to talk about a company" with which a deal has not been signed yet. |
