RCom launches CDMA wireless broadband services in Lucknow

ADA group company Reliance Communications Limited today announced the launch of its CDMA wireless broadband service, Reliance Netconnect Broadband Plus in Lucknow.

Speaking on the occassion Reliance Communications Regional Head Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand Saleem Haq said, "The launch of Netconnect Broadband Plus is an important catalyst and it will certainly act as a catalyst in the govrenment's effort to increase internet penetration. It will also boost the internet industry and the enable broadband access to millions of internet users."

 Haq also said that RCOM is embarking on the largest and most aggressive roll-out of broadband internet service. Netconect broadband service will be available in 35 cities covering 20,000 towns and 4.5 lakh villages as well as major road and rail routes across the country covering 99 per cent of India's internet population.

"Lucknow is the second city after Mumbai, where this service is launched. In Mumbai this service was launched about a week back," said Haq.

Demonstarting the features and advantages of netconect broadband plus, Reliance Communications Circle Head of network operations  Shishir Shyam said, "Netconnect broadband plus has a peak downlink speed of up to 3.1 Mbps and a separate uplink speed of up to 1.8 Mbps, which is 30 per cent higher downlink rate as compared to any other wireless broadband offering."
