India's second richest person Anil Ambani is a whisker away from his elder brother Mukesh in terms of annual remuneration after a fat package of over Rs 30 crore from his group's flagship entity Reliance Communications.
Besides taking his total latest fiscal payout to over Rs 43 crore, the remuneration from Reliance Communications has also fattened his overall hike to more than 18 times over the previous year, which stood at about six times prior to the disclosure of payment from Reliance Communications.
Anil Ambani received a total remuneration of about Rs 43.43 crore in the latest fiscal 2007-08 from his five group companies -- namely Reliance Communications, Reliance Capital, Reliance Power, Reliance Infrastructure, and Reliance Natural Resources Ltd.
This is just marginally less than Rs 44.02 crore of annual remuneration received by Mukesh Ambani, India's richest person and probably the top-paid business chief, from his group's flagship entity Reliance Industries Ltd. Mukesh did not take any remuneration from his other group companies Reliance Petroleum and Reliance Industrial Infrastructure Ltd.
According to RIL's annual reports, Mukesh got a total payout of Rs 44.02 crore in 2007-08, up from Rs 30.46 crore in 2006-07 and Rs 24.77 crore in the year before that.
In comparison, Anil's total remuneration surged over 18 times from just about Rs 2.4 crore in the year ended March 2007 to Rs 43.73 crore in the latest fiscal, as per the annual reports of his group companies.
