Claims to be first such corporate producer in Marathi cinema

Real estate developer City Corporation Limited is set to foray now into film production. The company will be co-producing a Marathi film 'Jai Jai Maharashtra Maaza' (JJMM), alongwith GJ Creations.

The company claims to be the first such corporate producer in Marathi cinema. Being made under the banner of GJ Creations, the film is being produced and directed by Gautam Jogalekar. At Rs 4 crore, JJMM is touted to be one of the biggest budget feature film in Marathi cinema.

Speaking on the new venture, Aniruddha Deshpande, managing director City Corporation Ltd, said, "This is our first association with the world of cinema and we are very happy to associate with this film, which through its theme and presentation will appeal to the young population in urban Maharashtra. I wish more and more corporate companies should involve in producing Marathi films so that these films will get the boost. "

"Rather than stressing on the few shortcomings of our state, JJMM chooses to adopt an approach of showcasing the major good and positive virtues of Maharashtra. We wish to actually 'show off' our great state!," said Gautam Jogalekar, who is not only directing the movie but has also written the story, screenplay and dialogues of the movie apart from composing music for one of its songs.

Mahesh Manjrekar who is acting in this film said, " Budget is the  main constraint for producing Marathi films. We are facing tough competition from Hindi movies. But from the last few years, Marathi cinema has improved a lot and making good business. Also, many of Marathi films has bagged National Awards which is a good sign for it."

According to Manjrekar, the market size of Marathi film industry is about Rs 100 crore wherein an average Marathi film costs a budget of Rs one crore.

The film is currently under production and is slated to hit cinema halls latest by October this year. Mahesh Manjrekar, Mrunal Kulkarni, Anusha Dandekar, Siddharth Chandekar and Hemant Dhome constitute the lead cast of the film.
