Real estate aggregator, Square Yards, has acquired Oryden Tech Labs, Ahmedabad-based creative and design studio specialising in 3D architectural designs, process virtualisation, digital walk-throughs and virtual reality, for an undisclosed amount.

This is the third acquisition in a year for Gurgaon-based Square Yards, with the other two being Realizing.in, a search and discovery portal known for algorithmic and analytics-based property research, and Singapore-based luxury realty agency LUXE.

As part of the acquisition, the entire team of Oryden, founded in 2012 by IIM-Ahmedabad alumnus Keyur Bhalavat and design specialist Ravi Patel, will join Square Yards.

"Digital is increasingly becoming the game changer in the real estate industry with concepts like interactive visualisations, virtual realty and augmented reality (AR) helping users to imagine their future home before moving in. Bringing in Oryden under the Square Yards umbrella will help us enhance our design and innovation bandwidth," Tanuj Shori, chief executive officer of Square Yards, said in a statement on Monday.

Square Yards, which recently crossed the Rs 100-crore revenue mark with a gross transaction value in excess of $450 million, has also scaled up its presence to 21 cities and six countries with an employee strength of over 900.

"While we were doing great independently, the management and geographical bandwidth that Square Yards will help us with will enable us to work on a wider range of projects and boost our R&D capabilities in holographic projections, 3D printing etc," said Oryden co-founder Keyur Bhalavat.
