Consolidated revenues during the period stood at Rs 5,541 crore, up 0.3 per cent from last year, lower than expectations, which pegged the same at Rs 5,729 crore. While revenue from Indian operations, which account for 86 per cent of the total, rose 1.5 per cent to Rs 4,791 crore, revenue from abroad was at Rs 1,117 crore, an increase of 4.1 per cent from the same period last year.
Indian telecom operation revenue saw a growth of 3.4 per cent to Rs 4,673 crore, on the back of higher realisations, beside stronger voice and data volumes.
Voice volumes for the company, which saw a rise of 1.8 per cent year-on-year, were better than 1.7 per cent as seen by Idea Cellular and the three per cent drop reported by Airtel.
In the case of average realisations per minute, RCom’s metric at 44.5, up 1.3 per cent year-on-year was also better than Idea’s 1.3 per cent decline and Airtel’s four per cent fall.
Data traffic for RCom grew 63 per cent year-on-year, compared with 83 per cent of Airtel and 79 per cent growth reported by Idea.
On a sequential basis, net profit declined 22.4 per cent from previous quarter and revenue was 2.36 per cent lower from January-March period.
