As many as 23 developers, including Reliance Power and JSW Energy, have submitted proposals for two power projects with a capacity of 3,300 Mw in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh.
On the last date for submission of request for qualification (RFQ) yesterday, 14 proposals were received for the 1,320 Mw Karchhana project and nine for the 1,980 Mw Bara project, official sources said here.
Developers, who filed the RFQ for Karchhana included Reliance Power, KSK Energy, Indiabulls, Jai Prakash, HDIL Energy, Bhusna Steel, Videocon Industries, Lanco, GVK, Adhunik Metallics, Adani Group, JSW Energy, L&T, Calcutta Energy supply company.
For the Bara project, Indiabulls, Jai Prakash, Lanco, GVK, Adani Group, L&T, Reliance Power, Isolex and National Thermal Power corporation submitted their proposals, sources said.
The RFQs received would be examined within a week's time. Later, request for Proposal (RFP) would be issued to the qualifying developers.
Following state Cabinet's decision, the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd (UPPCL) had invited fresh bids for the ambitious Bara and Karchhana thermal power projects.

The UPPCL had issued a global invitation for RFQ from interested developers on August 21.
While the bid for the Bara project was issued by Prayagraj Power Generation Company Ltd, the tender for the Karchhna project was floated by Sangam Power General Company Ltd - the two entities launched by the UPPCL.
