Reliance Power Q1 profit up 41% at Rs 344 cr

Total income jumped 58% to Rs 2,864 cr

Anil Ambani-promoted Reliance Power witnessed a jump of 41% in its net profit to Rs 344 crore during the first quarter of FY16. The company’s total income increased to Rs 2,864 crore in Q1FY16, up by 58% during the corresponding period last financial.

The company’s operating revenue increased to Rs 2,768 crore during the quarter under review. R-Power achieved full commission of its 3,960 Mw Ultra Mega Power Project (UMPP) in Sasan, Madhya Pradesh last year.

“The Sasan UMPP in Madhya Pradesh generated 6,948 million units. The plant reached an availability of 100% in the very first quarter of its full operations,” said the company in its statement.

RPower currently has operating capacity of 5,945 Mw. It said that its two major power plants - Rosa Power Plant in UP operated at plant load factor (PLF) of 81.7% and Butibori Power Plant in Maharashtra at 82.1% PLF.

The company first and India’s largest concentrated solar power project of 100 Mw under the National Solar Mission in Rajasthan commenced power generation last year.
