Religare's Nashik facility to be ready by March

Nashik-based Religare Pharma Pvt Ltd (RPPL) is setting up a formulation facility near Nashik at an investment of Rs 9 crore. The unit, which is already under construction, will be commissioned by March-end, this year.
 
The proposed pharmaceutical formulation unit at Pimpalnare, 15 km from Nashik, will be spread over 4.3 acres with a built-up area of 80,000 sft, including 62,000 sft built-up area for production. The plant would have a manufacturing capacity of 750 million tabletsapsules per year.
 
Speaking to Business Standard, Alok Munim, managing director, RPPL, said, "Initially, we will engage in contract manufacturing. We are building a state-of-the-art formulation facility near Nashik for tablets, liquids, capsules and Betalactum products. The facility, which is designed to manufacture products for both domestic and global markets as a contract manufacturer, will adhere to current Goods Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and World Health Organisation (WHO) guidelines." However, Munim did not divulge any details about whether the company has signed an agreement with any other company for contract manufacturing.
 
Speaking about the company's future plans, he said, "We will launch a complete range of our own products within the next one or two years once our plant is commissioned. Our goal is to create our own market in the country and abroad."
