Renault Selection will be the pre-owned car brand of Renault, which opened its first centre in Bengaluru on Thursday, which spans 21,000 square feet and can house 100 cars at any given time. Over the next two years the company plans to introduce the concept pan India.
"The pre-owned car market in India has steadily gained momentum over the past decade, spurred by new model launches, quicker upgradation cycles by customers and rising income levels. There are several customers looking for a value purchase in the pre-owned car market," said Sumit Sawhney, managing director and chief executive of Renault India.
Renault plans to open centres in four cities across India at first - Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Jaipur and Nagpur, where customers will be able buy used cars from any brand or exchange their old car for a new one from Renault. Through such initiatives and introduction of new models, the company hopes to capture 5 per cent of the new car market in India by 2017.
