REpower signs contract for supplying 54 turbines in Germany

REpower Systems, an arm of wind power equipment maker Suzlon, has signed a contract for supplying 54 wind turbines in Germany.

REpower Systems SE has signed a contract with German firm PNE Wind AG to deliver 54 offshore wind turbines at a wind farm in Germany, Suzlon said in a filing to the BSE.

However, financial details of the contract have not been disclosed by the company.

"This is a landmark order for the Suzlon Group and underscores our position as one of the global leaders in offshore wind energy," Suzlon Group Chairman Tulsi Tanti said.

"This is a real breakthrough, particularly for the numerous future projects in even deeper water," Andreas Nauen, CEO REpower Systems SE said.

Shares of the company were being quoted at Rs 27.60, up 1.28% from previous close, on the BSE in late afternoon trade.
