Resil, Dow sign pact

To jointly explore silicone-based garment finishing

Bangalore-based Resil Chemicals has moved from a customer-supplier relationship with Dow Corning Corporation (Dow Corning) to business collaboration for joint exploration of new possibilities in silicone-based textile and garment finishing.
 
Addressing a press meet here on Wednesday to announce the collaboration, M S Mohan, managing director of Resil Chemicals said that the collaboration aims to harmonise both companies' strengths in silicone technology, Resil's application expertise and Dow Corning's material science.
 
Under the collaboration agreement, Resil's silicone-based formulations will benefit from Dow Corning's ingredients and technology. It will include the Resil brand powered by Dow Corning's brand on labels and supporting commercial and technical information, he added.
 
Resil Chemicals has been a key player in silicone-based and total finishing solutions for textile and garments since 1994. Headquartered in Bangalore, the company operates comprehensive manufacturing facilities, an independent application research centres, as well as sales offices, across India. Textile finishing is one of many markets where silicones are used to impart specific performance advantages to products like wrinkle-free pants and aromatic or controlled release mechanism for textiles sector.
 
According to Raj Kapur, managing director for Dow Corning India, "As part of our collaboration, Resil will enjoy a high level of support from Dow Corning, including a global perspective, formulation development and technical expertise. We are interested in extending these activities to qualified customers in other key markets we serve," he further added.
