Retail technology show in Hyderabad from today

To tap the growing market for IT solutions in the retail market and create a knowledge platform for promoting IT adoption among retailers, Retail Tech Show 06 is being organised in Hyderabad from July 7-8, 2006.

Similar events will be organised in Kochi, Thrissur and Kozikhode later. These events are being organised by VINmedia, a business media service firm.

The two-day trade show will have 10 retail technology companies showcasing their products and solutions. Some of these include Pathfinder, Essae Technologies, eRetail Technologies, HCL and Tyche Peripherals.

On the second day of the event, a forum on 'Technology adoption among small and medium retailers "� the right approach' will be organised.

"With big companies entering the retail market, it is imperative for small and medium retailers to adopt technology for sustaining their business," A Mahesh Raju, chairman and managing director, Digital Shoppy, told mediapersons.

M Sadique Ahmed, chief technology officer of Pathfinder Software Solutions, said that various IT solutions ranging from enterprise resource planning solutions to barcode automation and point of sale systems can meet the automation needs of a retailer today.

The company is launching XtreMe Hash House, an F&B solution, on July 7 in Hyderabad.
