The company, in November last year, had won a Rs 1,370 crore worth of contract from Department of Post for supply hardware solutions under the latter’s modernisation initiatives. The project envisages providing hand-held devices for postmen to carry out transactions.
Also, the company is working to provide solar solution too for charging of the hand-held devices. It would be used in implementing financial inclusion activities of the postal department, said Kumar added. This year, the company has bagged a Rs 200 crore project from the Department of Education, Government of Delhi for the implementation and maintenance of ICT solutions in 1,100 school in the state.
Kumar said, South India has been a strategic market for Ricoh and it aims to expand its current channel partners from 900 to 1,500. Recently, the company had won various projects in Karnataka. These include a Rs 68 crore contract to supply and install IT infrastructure in over 1,000 branches of Vijaya Bank and another project from the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department of Government of Karnataka to supply IT infrastructure to around 5,629 gram panchayats across the state.
