Shares of Reliance Industries went up by over 2% in early trade on the bourses today after lagging for the last one week on the back of fresh buying by the investors amid a bullish broader market.
The company's scrip rose by 2% to touch an early high of Rs 852 on the BSE, while on the NSE, the stock gained 2.32% to touch an early peak of Rs 852.60.
On the volume front, over 19 lakh shares of the company changed hands on the bourses within the first few minutes of trade.
The country's most valued firm has witnessed an over 12% fall in its share price in the last seven trading sessions.
RIL's gains were significant in helping the broader Sensex recover from its four-session losing streak to trade higher by 145.81 points at 17,652.44 at 1050 hours.
