The division bench of Justice S B Mhase and Justice P B Varale has directed the counsels appearing for Mukesh Ambani and Anil Ambani to mention the matter before the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court tomorrow. The Chief Justice will then decide which bench of the Court should hear the matter.

The matter was placed before the Chief Justice after senior lawyer Ram Jethmalani, appearing for Anil Ambani's Reliance Natural Resources Limited (RNRL), told the Court that the matter should be heard by the Chief Justice of the High Court.

However, RIL counsel Harish Salve argued that the final arguments in the matter should start today before Justice Mhase and Justice Varale.

In the last hearing, the division bench of Justice J N Patel and V M Kanade directed for the matter to be placed before the Chief Justice, who will then assign the matter to some other bench.

Justice Patel had also ordered for RIL to maintain status quo and restrained it from entering into gas sales contracts with parties other than Anil Ambani Group's Reliance Natural Resources and state-run NTPC.
