The bench at the Bombay High Court, which was hearing the case between Mukesh Ambani-promoted Reliance Industries (RIL) and Anil Ambani group company Reliance Natural Resources (RNRL) over supply of gas from the Krishna-Godavari (KG) basin off the coast of Andhra Pradesh, has reportedly been changed which could delay a verdict in the high-profile. Justice K K Tated, one of the two judges hearing the two-year old case, has been transferred to the Aurangabad bench of the high court.
Justice J N Patel is the other member of the bench hearing the matter. This is the second instance when the bench hearing the case has been shuffled. In September this year, Justice Kathawala replaced Justice Tated but on a special request made by the RIL and RNRL counsels to the chief justice of the Bombay High Court, Justice Tated was retained. “This is a routine exercise with the court. We, however, plan to move the chief justice when the court re-opens in January and request him to retain Justice Tated as it will help resolve the matter fast,” said a legal member from RNRL team.
