Reliance Industries (RIL) has been awarded the prestigious annual Ficci award for excellence in science and technology and technological innovation.
External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee presented the award to RIL Executive Director H S Kohli at Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry's annual general meeting here today, a company press statement said.
"The annual Ficci awards have attained a premier stature for recognising outstanding achievements and contributions amongst Indian businesses, entrepreneurs and individuals," it said.
The awards, instituted in 1967, follow a unique, systematic and rigorous three-tier selection process and final selection is made by a special jury of eminent persons drawn from the corporate and social spheres.
The jury for the annual Ficci awards 2007-08 was headed by Justice P N Bhagwati, former Chief Justice of India.
