Anil Ambani-led Reliance Infrastructure (RInfra) today said it aims to train 1 lakh students for spreading the message of energy conservation this year under its 'Young Energy Saver (YES)' programme.
Till date, the company has trained 70,000 students on energy conservation.
RInfra, which began the YES energy conservation movement in 2009, said that encouraged by the movement's success, it aims to sensitise 5 lakh citizens in Mumbai on energy-saving techniques in the third year of programme.
"Since the time we launched this programme, we had an encouraging result among students. Their enthusiasm, involvement and dedication to spread the message about energy conservation are remarkable," RInfra Chief Executive Officer Lalit Jalan said in a statement.
Jalan added that the company aimed to mainly involve students in the energy conservation programme, exposing them to major issues concerning the energy sector.
"We also give them a platform to use their creativity and cutting-edge ideas in promoting energy conservation in their home and neighbourhood," he said.
