Luxury cars like Rolls- Royce, BMW, and Jaguar hogged the limelight on the first day of the four-day Hyderabad International Auto Show 2010 that got under way here on Thursday. And the visitors were a distinctively young crowd out to touch and feel the marque models.
“The auto show is a great platform for the customers who get to see a variety of products under one roof, ranging from the super luxury cars to bikes and vintage vehicles and accessories,” Radhika Talwar, director Vista Entertain-ments, said. Vista, in association with the Andhra Pradesh Motor Vehicle Dealers Association and Federation of All-India Dealers Associations, has organised the show.
The show has on display around 100 brands of cars and bikes from across the world including new launches, vintage cars and bikes, concept, and high performance vehicle.
The six new products across brands are Toyota’s Altis Diesel, Fiat Grande Punto 90 hp, Skoda’s latest SUV ‘Yeti’, Yamaha’s super bike V-MAX, BMW’s 2010 model, 5 series luxury sedan and Rolls Royce’s Ghost, which was launched in the state by chief minster K Rosaiah today. The price of Ghost starts from Rs 2.5 crore.
Indian favourites like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors and Mahindra too have found place along with Volvo and Mercedes Benz.
The auto show has a total of 70 stalls offering fancy modifications and accesso-ries like audio and GPS, as well as loans at special rates.
In this second season, the Hyderabad auto show has grown in size, with the number of brands participating going up to 70 from last year's 55. “In the 2009 auto show, 600 book-ings were done and this year the expectations are much higher as the participants are more. Besides, participation of financing companies like HDFC, ICICI, Reliance and Canara Bank will help in getting more bookings,” Talwar said.
